Ø What are the facts surrounding underage drinking in your community?
Ø How can we change the community norms to decrease acceptability?
Ø Who can support enforcement of underage drinking laws?
This Underage Drinking Prevention Task Force Meeting is part of a national effort to increase understanding and awareness of underage drinking and its consequences, and to encourage individuals, families, and communities to address the problem. This local Meeting will give community members the opportunity to come together to learn more about the new research on underage drinking and its impact on both individuals and the community, and to discuss how their community can implement the recommendations in The Surgeon General’s Call to Action to prevent underage alcohol use.
Since underage drinking is a critical health and safety issue, it is important to involve representatives from the entire community: parents, youth, education, faith-based, substance abuse prevention, other health entities, justice/law enforcement, highway safety, alcohol control, local government, and business. Please join us! Stopalcoholabuse.org
Conducted in partnership with the Rural Virginia United Coalition, Prevention Services Division of the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck CSB, & the West Point/King William Alcohol Prevention Task Force.
