The Mathews Prevention council strives to prevent substance use (alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs), violence, school failure, juvenile delinquency, and teen pregnancy. This council is part of the umbrella organization, the Rural Virginia United Coalition, and is sponsored by the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board.
