Nurturing Program for Parents and Their School-Age Children 5-11 Years® The program was created by Stephen J. Bavolek, Ph.D. Dr. Bavolek is recognized for his work in promoting nurturing parenting attitudes and skills for the prevention and treatment of child abuse.
The Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) The Nurturing Parenting Program is a validated and extensively field-tested program designed to modify abusive or potentially abusive parent-child interactions by providing training on developmental expectations, empathy, behavior management, and self-awareness. The primary goal of the program is to increase parental knowledge and build skills in positive parenting practices. Practical effective techniques are taught for handling challenging behavior and conflicts. The Nurturing Parenting Program is a 15-week course for parents held in (15) 2˝ hour sessions. ON GOING PARENTING PROGRAM (Parents Only) $15.00Handbook + $15.00 per session (for Couples $25.00 per session) · Prevention Services Office, Middlesex County Tuesdays 6:15 to 8:45pm (Orientation every 1st Tuesday) · Warsaw Counseling Center, Richmond County Mondays 6:30 to 8:45pm (Orientation every 1st Monday) Participants can register anytime.
THE RURAL VIRGINIA FAMILY NURTURING PROGRAM STRENGTHENING FAMILIES INITIATIVE (Parents & Children) · Middlesex County Parents & Children ages 5-11– Tuesdays, September 9, 2008 to December 16, 2008 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm - Catered Meals Middlesex High School · Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Parents & Adolescents Thursdays, October 2, 2008 to January 8, 2009 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm RCC Warsaw Campus · King William County Parents & Children ages 5-11– January 2009 to May 2009 Participants can only register up until the 2nd session. Children First: Parenting Wisely Through Divorce & Separation The Prevention Services Division of the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board is offering the ‘Children First: Parenting Wisely through Divorce and Separation’ co-parenting education program on Thursday, August 28, 2008 from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm. The program will be held at the Prevention Services Office located at 872 General Puller Hwy. in Saluda.
Children First is a divorce and separation education program for parents designed to address the relationship between parental conflict and child adjustment.
The fee for this four-hour program is $50.00. You must be registered in advance and your fee paid prior to the class.
