In a <u>one hour and fifteen minute</u> fun and exciting workshop using role-plays and guided group discussion, children learn assertiveness, peer support, and how to identify trusted adults who can help them with problems.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>A <u>complimentary workshop prior</u> to the implementation of the children’s workshop educates parents, teaches, guidance counselors, and administrators about child sexual assault and prepares them to respond effectively to children in crisis. Their research led to the alarming discovery that one out of every four girls and one out of every six to ten boys are sexually assaulted before the age of eighteen. It became painfully clear that the problem of sexual assault against children needed to be addressed.</span><span style="COLOR:#666666"></span></p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN:0in 0in 0pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE:11pt; COLOR:#666666; FONT-FAMILY:Arial">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; What began as a program for the second-grade class quickly evolved into a school project that included workshops for parents, teachers, administrators and school staff as well as children in each classroom.
